Publicity

A publicity officer is part of the executive Committee of the Friends.

This elected officer is responsible for working with the media, including newspapers, Community Radio and TV programs, and producing brochures for all events. He/she also writes stories from time to time as editorial material for newspapers.

When special events occur in the Garden, specific target advertising is necessary, as it is important to "get the message out", as most of these events are fund-raisers for the Garden.

One of the prime aims of the Publicity Officer is to draw more people from the community into the Botanic Garden, to make locals and visitors alike aware of this magnificent attraction.

As with all of the Committee, the publicity officer is a volunteer.
