The Main Pathway
The main path separates the dryer bushland to the left and the wetter swampland to the right. Visitors can see at a glance the difference in vegetation between the two (See Bushland areas).
To the right another path branches off to a picnic area and on the right of this path is a sculpture, "Inclusions", a ceramic sculpture created by Deborah Griggs, Lisa Magri and Ann Streckfuss as an arts project to benefit the Coffs Harbour Support Services who provide support for people with disabilities. This project was funded by a Coffs Harbour Cultural and Community Arts Grant and consists of three figures in a grouping symbolising the wish of people with disabilites to be included in society.
The main path continues through the Rare and endangered plants section, proteaceae, past the sensory garden and glasshouses into the exotic areas, finishing at the lake in Japan. It is an easy level walk, with seats placed along its length. Koalas are frequently seen in this area, and plenty of birds may be identified, including the wonga pigeon.
